February’s Rising Voices of Narcolepsy Story Sharing Series: Bob Cloud

Project Sleep presents its second month of the Rising Voices of Narcolepsy Story Sharing Series. Each month, viewers will be able to gather online to watch a Rising Voices of Narcolepsy trained speaker or writer present their story live via our Facebook page.

On Sunday, February 2nd, the live series continued with a brand-new storyteller. Our second speaker, Rising Voices of Narcolepsy trained speaker Bob Cloud, shared his story full of wisdom and answered a few questions from live viewers.

About Bob:

Bob Cloud is a retired lawyer now living in Northern Vermont. He grew up in Ohio and married an Indiana girl 48 years ago, with whom he has two children. Bob practiced family, criminal, and general law for 30 years, during which time he learned to live with narcolepsy. His excessive sleepiness, cataplexy, and related symptoms appeared at age 33, during Bob’s first year of night law school. Now, 42 years later, and as a Rising Voices of Narcolepsy speaker, Bob is happy to share his journey in which supportive family, creative doctors and pharmaceutical providers, and understanding friends stood by him as a husband, father, lawyer, patient, and occasional fisherman with narcolepsy.

About Rising Voices of Narcolepsy:

To improve public understanding of narcolepsy, Project Sleep’s Rising Voices of Narcolepsy program trains people with narcolepsy to share their stories through public speaking and writing with local communities, healthcare providers, news outlets, blogs and beyond. Combining the power of real-life stories with expert communication strategies, our Rising Voices of Narcolepsy trained speakers and writers are effectively raising awareness and reducing stigma for all those facing narcolepsy.

Our next Rising Voices training sessions will be in the summer of 2020. Those interested in participating should look for the application release in mid-February 2020.
