Join us in Nashville for Narcolepsy Event

On Saturday, April 25, 2020please join Project Sleep in Nashville, TN for Innovations in Narcolepsy Awareness & Advocacy, a unique one-day narcolepsy event to empower the community with updates from the forefront of advocacy and awareness. The event will take place at the Scarritt Bennett Center (1027 18th Ave S, Laskey Great Hall, Nashville, TN 37212). Registration is $25 per person and includes lunch.

Who Should Attend

All are welcome and a wide range of people with various perspectives are encouraged to attend, including people living with sleep conditions, loved ones, friends, clinicians, researchers, drug developers, and educators.

About The Speakers

Julie Flygare, JD

President & CEO, Project Sleep

Julie is the president & CEO of Project Sleep and the award-winning author of Wide Awake and Dreaming: A Memoir of Narcolepsy. She is the creator of the NARCOLEPSY: NOT ALONE campaign and co-founder of the Jack & Julie Narcolepsy Scholarship. Julie has shared her story around the world and is now training the next generation of narcolepsy patient-advocates through Project Sleep’s Rising Voices of Narcolepsy program.

At this event: In the morning, Julie will share her personal story from “hating narcolepsy” to becoming an advocate and author. In the afternoon, Julie will lead the group in an interactive workshop to empower participants with the key tools to effectively advocate for themselves from the dinner table to Capitol Hill.

Matthew Horsnell

Rising Voices of Narcolepsy Speaker

Matthew Horsnell is a father of three, amateur strength athlete, and science nerd who incorporates invertebrate fossils into rock sculptures. He was diagnosed as having narcolepsy with cataplexy 12 years ago and now as a trained speaker with Project Sleep’s Rising Voices of Narcolepsy leadership program he aims to raise awareness about narcolepsy and sleep.

At this event: Matt will share his inspiring Rising Voices of Narcolepsy presentation detailing his experience with narcolepsy from mysterious symptoms to finding an accurate diagnosis and advocating on Capitol Hill!
