President & CEO of Project Sleep, Julie Flygare, JD, has been jet-setting around the country to raise awareness of sleep! In the short span of three weeks, Flygare gave four presentations and moderated one panel at three different professional society meetings.
To start her journey, Flygare was invited to Michigan by board-certified sleep doctor, Christopher Allen, MD, to attend the Saginaw County Medical Society meeting. At the September 17th meeting, Flygare shared her story and raised awareness of World Narcolepsy Day in her presentation, “When Dreams Leave the Night.” She stated that “the audience was so engaged and asked great questions.”
Later that week, Flygare traveled to Princeton, New Jersey to attend and present at the 2024 New Jersey Sleep Society Symposium. On September 21st, Flygare gave two presentations, “When Dreams Leave the Night,” and “Effecting Public Policy in the Sleep Field.”
Flygare returned to her home state of California and on October 5th, attended the California Sleep Society 17th Annual Educational Symposium. Flygare gave a presentation on “Social Support for Hypersomnia,” which shared the results of Project Sleep’s social support survey analysis. She also moderated a panel titled “Rising Voices: Patient Experience Panel.” This panel featured Rising Voices speaker Lisa Rose and Project Sleep Expert Advisory Board member and sleep physician, Dr. Sam Kashani.
