Our Rising Voices of Narcolepsy Story Sharing live series continued on Sunday, May 17, 2020 with a brand-new storyteller: Eilís Finnegan! Eilís shared her journey, from how her diagnosis as a college sophomore influenced her thesis project to finding creative ways to advocate for sleep research in her career. Afterwards, she answered questions from live viewers.

About Eilís:

Eilís Finnegan completed her Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Interior Architecture Degrees from Auburn University. Eilís was diagnosed with narcolepsy with cataplexy in 2017 as a college sophomore and is now a trained speaker with Project Sleep’s Rising Voices of Narcolepsy. In her presentation, Eilís educates on the basic facts of narcolepsy while also taking you on a journey through her “dreamscape”— her road to diagnosis, how she creatively manages symptoms today, and how she uses her career in architecture to advocate for research into sleep conditions.

The Rising Voices of Narcolepsy Story Sharing Series invites viewers to gather online to watch a Rising Voices of Narcolepsy trained speaker or writer present their story live via Project Sleep’s Facebook page. Project Sleep is proud to offer our monthly series as a weekly event for the next few months. At a time in which many people need connection more than ever, this will increase opportunities for people around the world to engage with and support one another.
