In January 2024, Dr. Jennifer Talbert joined the Board of Directors of Project Sleep, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of sleep health, sleep equity, and sleep disorders.
Dr. Talbert is a chiropractic physician practicing in Portland, Oregon. She is passionate about educating her patients on the benefits of sleep, as well as the health of the musculoskeletal system.
Living with sleep apnea herself, Dr. Talbert has used a CPAP machine for the past 3 years, which has vastly improved her life. She is now an advocate for ensuring her patients undergo screening for sleep issues. Dr. Talbert firmly believes that chiropractors and other similar healthcare providers are uniquely positioned to screen for sleep disorders, given their frequent interactions with patients and the ability to easily refer them to specialists if issues arise.
Dr. Talbert extends her commitment to patient care by cultivating an environment where individuals of all shapes and sizes feel comfortable in their bodies, free from judgment and body shaming. She believes this framework should extend into all healthcare treatment settings.
Already a member of Project Sleep’s Expert Advisory Board, Dr. Talbert is excited to expand her involvement with Project Sleep by joining the Board of Directors, bringing a valuable perspective as both a healthcare provider and a patient with a sleep disorder.
In addition to her healthcare expertise, Dr. Talbert possesses event planning, volunteer, and leadership skills acquired from organizing a local women’s social club. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, being creative with crochet projects, playing the ukulele, and hosting her book club.
