Project Sleep is thrilled to present a live webcast performance by Kendall Patrick and the Headless Bettys for SLEEP IN 2015! Tune in Sunday, March 8th at 6pm PST / 9pm EST on Google Hangout to rock out with other participants from all around the world.

Slide1Singer-songwriter Kendall Patrick and her band, The Headless Bettys, featuring Lena Birtistle (keys/vocals), Caleb Burness (drums) Paul Cimolini (bass), and Ameila Thomas (trumpet), have a a cool sound that blends folk, pop, and rock. It’s not surprising the group is kind enough to support the SLEEP IN, as Kendall is dedicated to socially responsible music that challenges preconceived notions and conventional thinking.  “I believe that, for me, the gift of songwriting comes with a social responsibility” she says.  “Music can have a big impact on people.  Because I choose my influences carefully, I have been guided to strength, validation, empowerment, and hope.”

Kendall recently posted a blog about SLEEP IN 2015 on her official website, speaking to the importance of sleep in her own life.  “I tip my hat to every effort made by people living with narcolepsy to spread awareness, advocate for themselves, and for all others who struggle with sleep related conditions.”etsysleepin

We are also incredibly grateful to the band’s manager, Ciro Di Ruocco, who lives with narcolepsy.  Ciro is a talented artist who designed the official (glow-in-the-dark!) SLEEP IN 2015 t-shirt which will be awarded to the top three fundraisers and top the top three “sleep spirit” participants. He is making the t-shirts available on Etsy as well.  You can read an interview with Ciro recently published in Vancouver Island University’s student newspaper, The Navigator, to learn about narcolepsy and his involvement with the event.

Thank you so much to the band and Ciro, you guys rock (in more ways than one)!
