In January 2025, Tracy Christensen joined the Board of Directors of Project Sleep, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of sleep health, sleep equity, and sleep disorders.
Tracy became involved with Project Sleep in 2015 when she participated in the first annual Sleep In and became an active volunteer. In 2017, she joined the Board of Directors and served two terms in significant leadership roles, including Vice Chair and Secretary. Tracy’s contributions as a community member, volunteer, and board member have supported Project Sleep’s continued growth.
In addition to her previous tenure serving on the Board of Directors, Tracy has served on the World Narcolepsy Day Committee, attended the Sleep Advocacy Forum, and, in 2023, represented Project Sleep at the White House Sleep Equity Convening. After serving two terms on the Board of Directors, Tracy took a year off to focus on personal growth and education. During this time, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and earned a Certificate in Health Communication from the University of Kentucky.
Tracy is an administrative assistant at the University of Kentucky. She is vital to her department’s leadership team and uses her organizational and communication skills to support university operations. Diagnosed with narcolepsy without cataplexy at the age of 29, Tracy has a personal connection to Project Sleep’s mission. In addition to her diagnosis, her husband and child have had their own sleep health challenges, giving her a unique perspective on the importance of sleep health for both individuals and families.
Outside her professional and advocacy work, Tracy is a devoted mother and wife who values balance and connection. She lives in Nicholasville, Kentucky, where she enjoys spending time with family, listening to music, and relaxing with various arts and crafts.
Returning to Project Sleep’s Board of Directors feels like coming home. This organization and its mission have been a constant source of inspiration for me. I’m excited to return with renewed energy and honored to have the opportunity to serve and collaborate with the incredible Project Sleep dream team again.”
