Project Sleep is proud to be an official sub-awardee on this contract with our president Julie Flygare, JD, serving as a co-investigator along with Rebecca Fuoco, MPH.
“Sleep disorders affect millions of Americans, yet excessive sleepiness often is an invisible and invasive symptom that is under-recognized as a serious health concern in our society,” said Julie Flygare.
“By bringing patient advocates together as healthcare experts alongside other important stakeholders, we will be able to collect invaluable first-hand perspectives of patients and learn together how to better improve outcomes for all those affected by these challenging conditions.”
SLEEP2 and the other projects approved for funding by the PCORI Engagement Award Program were selected through a highly competitive review process in which applications were assessed for their ability to meet PCORI’s engagement goals and objectives, as well as program criteria. I was diagnosed at age 66…female. I went two years of misery until Doc did MSLT. Using Nuvigil…cuts the nap times in half. NEW doc…will not prescribe Nuvigil unless I get at least 7 hrs sleep/night. I was at about 6 hrs. She claims she will lose her ‘accreditation’ with the Academy….Sleep Medicine..(?) if she does. Any comments please.
