New Video: Doctors with Narcolepsy

“What does narcolepsy mean for my future? Should I disclose in school and at work?”

All people with narcolepsy face these questions, including those pursuing careers in healthcare.

During an unprecedented global pandemic, Project Sleep is proud to highlight healthcare professionals living with narcolepsy in a new video series. Today, we are releasing “Doctors with Narcolepsy” — a new video resource featuring three doctors living with narcolepsy.

In this new video, three doctors living with with narcolepsy share candidly about their experiences wearing both “hats” as physicians and patients. We had a lot of questions for these amazing doctors, and we’re so grateful for their honest reflections on:

  • Balancing medical school + narcolepsy
  • Practicing medicine: narcolepsy management tips, sharing their diagnosis with co-workers and patients
  • Being a doctor during COVID-19
  • Advice for future doctors with narcolepsy

This video features:

  • Lindsay McCullough, MD – a primary care & sleep physician
  • Marleny Macario, MD – a clinical neurophysiologist
  • Luis E. Ortiz, MD – a pediatric sleep disorders specialist & Narcolepsy Network board member

Huge thank you to Drs. McCullough, Macario, and Ortiz for sharing their powerful and important stories!
