Meet Our New Board Member, Kristyn Beecher!

In April 2021, Kristyn Beecher officially joined the Board of Directors of Project Sleep, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of sleep health and sleep conditions.

Kristyn Beecher is a storyteller and news producer from Houston, Texas. She was diagnosed with narcolepsy at age 24, but had lived with symptoms for many years before that. A graduate of Hampton University, Kristyn works daily to make sure that underrepresented voices are heard and their stories shared. She believes it’s her purpose to produce content that looks like the world around us, colorful, rich, and full of light.

“I feel overjoyed to be a part of this board,” said Beecher. “As a content creator, I know how impactful one person’s story can be. That’s why I’m honored to have such an important role in an organization that empowers people with narcolepsy to tell their stories every day.”

Prior to joining Project Sleep’s Board of Directors, Beecher became a trained speaker with Rising Voices of Narcolepsy in 2020. She also served on Project Sleep’s World Narcolepsy Day 2020 committee, sharing her media expertise via a special World Narcolepsy Day media training. Likewise, Beecher was a featured speaker at the Sleep Advocacy Forum in October 2020.

“I found Project Sleep at a time when I felt lost and alone,” added Beecher. “Now that I’ve joined this community of amazing humans, I’ll never feel alone again.”

Hear Kristyn’s Story:

“Over the past few years, Kristyn has become an integral part of our dream team,” said Project Sleep’s President & CEO, Julie Flygare, JD. “We are honored and grateful to welcome Kristyn onto our organization’s leadership team. Her experience and expertise will be invaluable in helping Project Sleep grow strategically and make an even greater impact for years to come.”
