Our Rising Voices of Narcolepsy Story Sharing live broadcast series continued on March 7, 2021 with trained speaker Connor Baker, a recent nursing school graduate and boxer. Connor shared his powerful story of overcoming adversity and self-doubt to pursue his dreams, and answered audience questions about his life with narcolepsy.

About Connor:

Connor Baker is a recent nursing graduate from Aurora University in Illinois. He was diagnosed with narcolepsy with cataplexy at 20 years old. Now, as a trained speaker with Project Sleep’s Rising Voices of Narcolepsy program, he wants to share his story to help spread awareness and end stigma surrounding narcolepsy.

The Rising Voices of Narcolepsy Story Sharing Series invites viewers to gather online to watch a Rising Voices of Narcolepsy trained speaker or writer present their story live via Project Sleep’s Facebook page. Project Sleep is proud to offer this series every other week. At a time in which many people need connection more than ever, this will increase opportunities for people around the world to engage with and support one another.

To improve public understanding of narcolepsy, Project Sleep’s Rising Voices of Narcolepsy program trains people with narcolepsy to share their stories through public speaking and writing with local communities, healthcare providers, news outlets, blogs and beyond.
