World Narcolepsy Day Story Sharing: Meet Adriana in Bulgaria!

In celebration of World Narcolepsy Day (Sept 22), new Rising Voices storyteller Adriana Andreeva joined us from Sofia, Bulgaria on Sept 18 for Story Sharing! Adriana shared about her daughter’s narcolepsy diagnosis and becoming a patient advocacy leader in Bulgaria.

About Adriana:

Adriana Andreeva lives and works in Sofia, Bulgaria. Her daughter was diagnosed with narcolepsy type 1 at 10 years of age, and their family’s experience drove Adriana to create the Bulgarian Association of Narcolepsy Patients. As a narcolepsy advocate and Rising Voices speaker, she is on a mission to raise awareness in her country to reduce delays to diagnosis and strengthen support for people with narcolepsy and their families.

What is the Story Sharing Series?

The Rising Voices Story Sharing Series invites viewers to gather online to watch a Rising Voices trained speaker or writer present their story live via Project Sleep’s Facebook page.

About Rising Voices:

To improve public understanding of sleep disorders, Project Sleep’s Rising Voices program trains people living with sleep disorders to share their stories through public speaking and writing with local communities, healthcare providers, news outlets, blogs and beyond. Combining the power of real-life stories with expert communication strategies, our Rising Voices trained speakers and writers are effectively raising awareness and reducing stigma for all those facing sleep disorders.
